Summer Camps 2009
Graceful Speech offers multisensory structured academic language, reading, and math camps to children who need extra help during the summer. Each day camp runs for two weeks at a time. The student to teacher ratio is 2 to 1. All materials are included in the cost of the camp. A $150 non-refundable registration fee is collected at sign up but is credited to the cost of your camp(s).
At this time, you can sign up for camps and specify your preference for an AM camp or PM camp. We will call you to schedule the exact times for your child.
Art-4-Academics
This 6-hour per week program is especially designed for school-aged children (2nd through 12th grade) who are struggling with academic vocabulary, reading comprehension, or general language skills. Art-4-Academics is a structured multisensory approach to stimulate sensory-cognitive development. Three times a week children participate with a 45-minute language lesson and then use the skills to create an art project to take home. The teacher to student ratio is 2 to 1.
The activities are designed to teach children of all ages to identify what is important, make associations with new information, and express what they learn through language. This program guides students from concrete experiences (art) to abstract skills (talking about the art process). Each class introduces students to a drawing or modeling concept and grade-specific academic vocabulary.
Class Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Reading Camp
This 6-hour per week program is for children at risk for reading problems or who have known language delays. Three times a week children play games and do activities that target phonemic awareness and sight word reading. Children learn to apply the habits that good readers use to gauge their understanding. The low student to teacher ratio (2:1) ensures your child individual attention. Students are grouped by level.
